Hello!
I am Dawn, a filipina, currently residing in NJ, USA. About 3 weeks ago, a tragedy happened in my family back home in the Philippines. My cousin, Edu, had an accident. It happened around midnight. He was on his way home from a gig (he is an excellent keyboardist) and was in a jeepney (means of transportation in my country) along with his bandmates and other passengers. Six men declared a hold up. He got so scared and he just jumped out of the jeepney. He just wanted to save his earning from that night (around PhP2000=$42) coz his GF is 4 months pregnant. He plays keyboards with a band in a bar once a week to earn a living. He was rushed to a public hospital and we had to pay for his surgery and had to take blood clots from his brain and take a part of his skull which was messed up. Thank God, he survived. But, he is still not in his normality yet. He can't speak, no reactions, cant walk and is now suffering from pneumonia due to complications. He stayed in the hospital for 2 wks. right now, his pregnant gf takes care of him, and had to stay in an apmt with my sick grandmother also. As of now, i am the only one who sends money to him. and i can only send a little amount since i ahve a 4 month old baby to survive. earning a little above the minimum doesnt really help a lot. He needs to have his therapy soon. On friday, Aug. 1, 2008, he will have his 1st check up and let him know how much therapy he should have and which medicines he still have to take. It breaks our hearts more seeing him this way. Until now, we havent recovered from it, and still asking God the reason why it happened. He is an adopted child and his parents never ever showed up. I am asking your good hearts, even just a little amount, will help the future of my cousin, his soon to be wife and unborn child. prayers will mean a lot also.
